Okay, lets get this discussion going. So, what are you thoughts on Norah and the whole overprotective thing? Do you guys think she is overprotective solely because of the supposed death of Phoebe or is it just her. Where do you guys drawn the line with what is overprotective and what isn’t?

Secondly, what are your thoughts on Norah and Dr. Henry drifting apart? For more discussion… it seems that marriages are falling apart more and more in today’s society; do you feel this relates to Norah and Dr. Henry?

You know Mr. Shank I never knew DD was supposed to answer his own questions…

Do you guys think Dr. David Henry is a bad person and husband for having Phoebe taken away? Does the fact that he was trying to protect his wife make him okay?

Also, do you guys think Caroline made the right decision to keep Phoebe out of the institution.

Finally, why is it that Norah is so obsessed with the dead baby that she never even knew, especially since she still has one child?

First off, to get a better look into the last few chapters we need to look into the past. Why do you guys think that Mr. Heathcliff married Isabell if he really loved Catherine? Could it be that he was using her? Possibly blackmail?

Why do you think that after all Mr. Heathcliff has done to Catherine, and vice/versa, that they once again meet each other? Do you think that Mr. Heathcliff intends to “woo” Catherine? Or possibly that maybe he wants just to get back at her?

Finally do you guys believe that what Mr. Heathcliff and Catherine is true love??? Being able to withstand the odds and everyone’s opionions! Or maybe its just a big crush. If you love somebody enough, dont you think you wouldn’t care what other people think of your relationship? Maybe Catherine and Mr. Heathcliff have a love/hate situation? They hate the fact that they love each other?

Well, I just finished reading chapter 13 and I found a couple questions that thought would be good to ask.

Do you guys think Edgar Linton brought his troubles with Catherine upon himself by not swallowing his pride and throwing himself at her feet when she was locked in her room?

I recall Heathcliff telling Catherine that he would hate to be married to Isabella, so why did he go and marry her anyway? Was it just so he would become the inheritor of Edgar’s wealth?

Finally, when Hindly is talking about how he wants to kill Heathcliff, he mentions to Isabella that he doesn’t care if she tells Heathcliff and puts him on guard. Why do you guys think HIndly wants to drag it out so much and turn it in to a game almost? Why doesn’t he just kill Heathcliff or even just capture him and torture him if he is looking to cause Heathcliff distrust and pain?

(sorry about posting this kind of late Megan)

These are some questions I thought should be discussed from chapters 6-10:
How does Nelly describe Catherine? Does she judge her?
Do you think Catherine accepts the change she went through at the Linton’s? Did she want to change?
How does Heathcliff react to Catherine’s change? Does he feel they are unequal?

So far in the novel, Mr. Lockwood is the main character. Mr. Heathcliff also serves as an important character in the story. To start off the discussion, I would like all members to respond to these questions.

Is the room in which Mr. Lockwood stays haunted? If so, by what is it haunted?

Mr. Heathcliff, in the beginning of the novel, yells out of the window to “Cathy”. Why does he do this? Who is he referring to?

Why do you think Mr. Lockwood is so disturbed by his dreams? He is even disturbed enough to leave the room. Is he afraid of something?
