1. Puck is the character that gives this story character. Without Puck, it seems to me that the comady would turn into a normal play. He is an essential person to have in the play; he makes all the events happen. In general, Puck is the most likable character in the play.
2. Demetris does not seem to have a true effection for Helena to me. He was the person who chased after Hermia just because she was pretty. He appears to be too shallow-minded to love someone because of anything else except for beauty.
3. Well, one theme seems to be that the right love will always find you. Another is that even the worst fun appears to be fixable. I had another two, but I forget what they are. I’ll see if I remember later…
4. I liked Romeo and Juliet more. It had more action and still kept the humor that was present within A Midsummer Night’s pages. Both plays share similar parts but I believe that Romeo and Juliet will always take the cake for me.
Here is my final reply (unless I remember those themes!)!

I agree that he is the most important character. He is the one who sets the plot, messes it up, and fixes it again. Without him, there would be no plot. He makes the story interesting, and gets the lovers all mixed up!
I do not think that he has a true love for her. He just thought she was hot and wanted some. I do not consider that love. Like Jenny said, he is shallow.
Love is not just a game to play…Beatles alusion… I think that this is an important theme to see because Puck messed with their love, but in the end, it all worked out. Another would be, Love is not what someone looks like. We learned this with Demitrius.
I thought that they were both interesting, but I like Romeo and Juliet better maybe just because we did more with it. We got to watch a movie and understand it better. We could see modern day ideas related to it. Someone posted how we could relate this to modern day and that waas good. I connected that to it. The question may have been connecting our book to a movie or book. I like all the things we did with Romeo ande Juliet better.

I know Dan and Kianat haven’t posted yet, and I’m sorry, but the blog is due at eight o’clock and I don’t want the last blog to be late!
1. I do agree that Puck is the most important character in the play. Without Puck and his magic, none of the mix ups would have occured. In essence, the major portion of the play would not have occured.
2. I don’t think that Demetrius really loves Helena. I think that Puck’s spell is the only thing keeping them together.
3. Love is obviously the most important theme. The play emphasizes that love is not easy. As Lysander says in Act 1 “The course of true love never did run smooth). Another important theme is imagination. This is needed to enjoy the play, because unlike Romeo and Juliet which could occur in real life. A Midsummer Night’s Dream could not occur because there is magic and fairies.
4. I liked Romeo and Juliet better. It was longer, but there was more depth to the characters than in this play. I also liked that a lot of the characters died.
I AM FINISHED WITH BLOGS!!!

1) I think that Puck is a really important character to the play because without Puck there would be no plot story and he is the one who is mostly involved in the scheme of bringing the true lovers together.
2) I think that Demetrius does really love Helena but is deflected because of Hermia’s beauty. He is in love with Helena deep inside but just doesn’t realize it yet. So Puck, is there to speed up the process.
3) A theme of Midsummer Night’s Dream is that true love conquers all and no one should try and get in the way. Love is seen not with the eyes but with the mind is another meaning that love should not have anything much to do with beauty.
4) I like Romeo and Juliet more because it showed a purpose of the lovers meeting and ended in a tragedy showing everyone the theme of the play. Even though it didn’t have a happy ending it got a really powerful message through. So did A Midsummer Night’s Dream but the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet just proved what true love is and to what extent people will go to give up everything to get their true love.
-Kianat great blog Brandon.
