Brittany Miller, Much Ado About Nothing, post 2, Summarizer
Basically in this section of the play, several important events take place. For one Beatrice and Benedick hook up in a really weird and round about sort of way. There seems to be a lot of involvement from people who are not invloved in this situation which plays in to this happening. If that makes sense, which it probably doesn’t, but oh well its taking up space. Anyway another thing that happens is that Don John convinces Claudio that his fiance, Hero, is a whore. This is just mean and all around wrong. Hero is in no way a whore and Don John needs to mind his own business and try to make his life happier instead of making everyone else’s lives miserable like his. The wedding is set for the next day and Hero doens’t know that Claudio thinks that she is a whore. This could make the following events rather special.
How do you think Hero is going to react to Claudio calling her an allegid whore?
Why do Beatrice and Benedick finally agree to ‘hook up’, after all this time of constant fighting and bickering?
How do you think this whole wedding situation is going to end for both Claudio and Hero?

I think that Hero will be very upset and offened when she reacts to being called a whore. She seems so innocent and sweet and I think she will be very hurt. I think that Benedick and Beatrice finally hook up because they realize that they are supposed to be together and all of this fighting and bickering was kind of their way of flirting with eachother. I think that the wedding will continue to go on because Claudio will see how hurt Hero is and realize that he was wrong and Don John is a bad guy. In the end I think everything will work out!

I think that Hero is going to be very upset and confused at first and I think that it will take a lot of explaining from other people to help Claudio and Hero understand what is going on. I think that Hero may actually at least consider leaving Claudio after such a rude remark. I think though that after some explaining, everything will work out. Like I have said in previous posts, I think B&B’s bickering was just their way of flirting, not that this is always the way, but it is indeed one that looks like a possibility in this situation. Again, I think the wedding will be a total disaster because both the bride and groom have been either deceived or lied to by outside characters who take joy in making others feel stupid, an awful characteristic to have. I do think that the wedding will not work out but the relationship between Claudio and Hero can and will be saved.

1. I think that Hero is going to be very confused and hurt. I think that she’s going to ask him for proof and why he would say it. I think that Hero may end the relationship because back then if someone called you a whore it would ruin your entire reputation. I think that it will take a lot of explaining on Claudio’s behalf to get him in her good graces again.
2. Beatrice and Benedick hook up because they supposedly “feel bad for the other.” I think that this is just a cover-up though because they don’t like showing their true feelings for one another.
3. I think that the wedding will go on because I think that Claudio will some how discover that it was not Hero on the porch and will feel very remorsful and will try everything to win Hero back. I think that Hero will accept his apology after she hears the story and then the wedding will be back on.
