Hey I am sorry this is so late, I compleatly forgot to comment on this blog. Sorry.

I agree with the other three blogs. Sorry Sonam. I think that how you are raised does determine who you are. You may be like your parents or you may not like the way your parents act and be not like them but either way the people who raise you affect who you are. I do think that because of his hard times the shrew will be a better person because he went through the hard times and does not like it. Since people are being nice to him he might be nice to them start living a better life because he now knows how to live and what to avoid.

I think that, while coming from a rich family can help, it will not limit your success if you come from a poor family. Hard work and perseverance have helped many people go from rags to riches. There can be some situations where this might not have been possible. For example, in medieval times, areas that used the caste system could have limited people in their level of success. A shoe maker would be forced to stay a shoe maker. However, this does not mean that they could not move and look for better opportunities elsewhere. In conclusion, coming from a rich family can help, but it does not limit you from being successful. You can still achieve success by hard work and by applying yourself.

I would have to agree and disagree with Teddy Bear. I do agree with him saying that perseverance or bad luck can change the type of person you are, but I believe that there is much more to this. A person surroundings and experiences, especially if they are extremes, can drastically change a person. For instance, if you grew up in a rough area where you were bullied a lot this could have changed your life a lot. Things that occur, especially in childhood directly affect what type of person you are. Many people who were bullied as children are very shy and they are not likely to trust anyone. Now to get off that topic. I do think that it is possible to overcome these traumas, but it could be very difficult.

To make things connect to the story some I would have to say yes, an experience can change a person very much. One of the most famous examples of this is Ebenezer Scrooge. He was a complete crab until he was made to realize all he was missing out on life. The ghosts that visited him caused him to become one of the nicest people in the town. To conclude I would like to say that I hope the Shrew's experiences would make him a better person.

No, I think that the economic, social, or any other kind of situation that you were born in should not and will not affect the kind of person that you will grow up to be. I'm going to be telling a story now, so brace yourself. Okay, my uncle was born in America and raised in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, as the son of a very economically and socially wealthy man. And now my uncle is working multiple jobs at minimum wage just to barely scrape by. On the other hand, my father was born in Namche Bazaar, a very very small and poor village in Nepal, into a poor farmer's family. Then by making some very smart decisions and by trying his hardest he is now working as a doctor in America, the land of opportunity. So the moral of the story is that if you work hard and keep your eye on the prize then there's nothing that you cannot accomplish. I do realize that I've probably already brought up this story many times before but I thought it fit perfectly into your question.
