Anil’s Ghost Character Watcher Post 4
I wrote a short play to describe how blogging another 4 weeks is
(Prince looking guy enters. Majestic music is playing, and he is addressing a large crowd.)
Prince: Finally! The day has come were we can lay down or hands, hang up our hats, and be done with blogging.
Servant: (Scurries to Princes side, wispers something in his ear.)
Prince: What’s that? We have to Blog another 4 weeks? No! Why will King Shank not take mercy on his poor subjects! Why has he left us to drown in our work?
(King Shank enters. He stand 9 feet tall, and carries a 10 foot long sword.)
King Shank: Silence! No complaining or you will be smited at the hand of my Mighty Sword!
Prince: I guess we have no choice but to obey.
Servant: Sugercane!

Aha! I was right! In the second Blogging of this rotation I said that Sarath was sneaky and sly. However, in the third section of the book, Sarath appeared as if he was truly sincere, and he really wanted to help Anil. But I was right all along. Sarath does end up betraying Anil, which was a shocker to some, but noow me. As you may have guessed, I am examining Sarath in this section. In this section, that author focuses less on backstory, ande more on the actual plot of finding Sailors killer. Sarath appears as if he is sincere in his hope of finding Sailor, right until the last moment. When Sailors identity was discovered, Sarath got out of there. He then tried to discredit Anil, and make her seem less believeable. This is the section of the book where we see the final transformation of Sarath from friend to enemy. Sarath was a Dynamic character. he changed throughout the course of the book. He started out as a mysterious helper, but ended as a terrible villian. My question for you guys is: Do you think Sarath was planning on betraying Anil the whole time? Or did he simply have a change of heart at the last moment?

I would actually like to say that Sarath was planning on betraying Anil the whole time AND had a change of heart. In the beginning Sarath’s only objective was to find out what Anil is doing and make sure no one also hears about the murders. Sarath probably though it was going to be an easy job, until he started to work with Anil and began to actually like her and in the end i think that Sarath honestly wanted to support her cause. Because even though he did a horrible thing by making a fool out of her and making sure the person responsible for Sailor’s death gets away with it, in the end he gave up his own life in order to save Anil’s. He was a good guy after all.
And that’s all I got to say about that.

I knew this was Brian’s blog before I even started to read it. NICE PLAY!
I think Sarath was planning on betraying Anil the entire time. I don’t think he was a good guy after all because he let Sailor’s killer get away. Yes, he did “give up his life for her” as Adam said, but his job WAS to keep an eye on her. He ended up betraying her. I say Sarath is a sneaky son of a biscuit eating bulldog.

I don’t think that Sarath actually wanted to betray Anil. He was looking out for her safety by embarrassing her at the conference to reveal that the government was killing the people of Sri Lanka. Sarath felt that the government knew that Anil and himself thought and sort of knew the government was behind the murders, so in order to protect Anil, he had to betray her once again and the last time. All along, I think that his actions towards Anil were not meant to be hurtful or betraying, but he did not want anything bad to happen to her.

Interesting Laurisa, I never thought that he may have been “betraying” her to protect her. I suppose I would agree with that more than he is just a flat out villian. Sarath as sneaky, but he did show some good qualities in the book. It is very possible he was looking out for Anil.
