Denn was not looking for the money, but for love. AT the point where he had gotten the money, he just wanted to love Cattie. He had already almost given up on the idea of the money.
Not only is it suspicious, but it could cause have caused problems.
No not weird, but he is very competitive in my mind.
He realized that he would get caught because she was dealing all the same cards. SO he had to play straight up to win.
Yes, and he would have got lucky and went all-in every time where he beat the odds.
Great story and it gave great insight on everybody's thoughts.

P.s. Sorry it is late but it is complicated.

33: No, I don't think Denn wanted Cattie's money. I think Denn just wanted to see Cattie and talk with her for a while.

34: No, he probably regrets not giving the 10grand to Denn but he doesn't want Denn's money.

35: Definitely! I don't think it is fair to play in your own tournament because you organized it and know how it works. Artie isn't a fair guy and if you try and stop him you won't have a fair chance of getting away unharmed.

39: He reminded me of the kids in the movie 21. All college kids, young, playing poker in Vegas... Yeah, I don't know what he deal was, he was a baby in the end.

40: He got rid of Cattie because she wasn't giving him great cards. Artie was doing fine on his own and from what I read none of the other dealers were pulling for him. I guess he just had to play the game.

Yes, I think he won the tournament because Jimbo talks about it and says Denn had a pretty good story (page 177). Denn got lucky and karma helped too.

I liked the story, I wish it were longer. I really enjoyed how the chapters went between characters because it gave us that extra little insight we needed.

Chapter 33- No I believe that Denn was just tring to see why Cattie set him up. I also think that he was seeing how she was doing. He still had a feelings for her.

Chapter 34- I don't believe that Jimbo was tring to get money from Denn. I think he was tring to find out how Denn got the money to be in the Big Deal. Jimbo is very curious.

Chapter 35- Well, I don't think that the rest of the players know Artie well. They just probaly think he is just tring to have some fun. But, to people like Denn they can tell that Artie is up to no good.

Chapter 39- The UNLV kid has to be the worst poker player I have ever heard of. He goes all-in on every hand. Luck is the only thing that keeps him in the tournament for a while.

Chapter 40- Artie wanted to get rid of Cattie because she gave him the same hand five times in a row. Eventually people would be able to tell that Cattie was helping Aztrie. So, he got rid of her. By the way the rest of the dealers weren't cheating. Denn obserbed them and relized that they were just regular dealers.

Chapter 42- I don't think that Denn would have won. He wouyld have had to won the next hundred hands. I loved this book. It was exciting and fun to read.
