All-In: Summarizer: Blog FOR LAST WEEK: Leah Sevco

Sorry again, everyone, for not having my book last week and not blogging. Also, thanks for responding to me now. :)

Chapter 20 [Denn]:
The scene began with Denn sitting at a table in the Bellagio, playing a wimpy $6-$12 game. Cattie kept crossing his mind, causing him to lose his focus. The game got somewhat intense when the Hispanic woman and the man with the Twins cap started to play smart. Noticing that he was going to lose, Denn decided to fold and walk out.

Chapter 21 [Cattie]:
During this chapter Cattie reflects upon her mother and all of her mothers’ horrible and disgusting habbits. She explains how her father had left her and her mother. She also goes on into detail about her mother, saying that she has about 3-4 new boyfriends every week. She also says that her mother is a gold digger. Do you think that this could be how Cattie ends up? Lastly, the chapter ends showing that while Cattie was reflecting about her mother, she was out to dinner with the grey haired man.

Chapter 22 [Denn]:
Denn had come to King’s Crossing to look for Cattie. He had asked the man at the bar, Harley, but he said he had never heard of Cattie. Frustrated and not wanting to talk to the man anymore, Denn sits down at a $15-$30 holdem seat.

Chapter 23 [Cattie]:
Cattie had realized the idea that the grey haired man most likely only wanted Cattie to mess with Denn, and possibly to mess around with sexually. Creepily, the grey haired man tries to convince Cattie into coming back to his house. She declines multiple times. The man then gets a phone call, and takes Cattie and himself to King’s Crossing. Cattie tries to leave, but he insists that she stay. Why did you think that he wanted Cattie to stay? What all do you think the man wants from Cattie? Also, what do you think the man meant when he asked Cattie if she was “cold”, since he said he wasn’t talking about the weather?

Chapter 24 [Denn]:
Denn continued playing his $15-$30 game when he spotted Cattie out of the corner of his eye. He noticed that she was with a grey haired man, and he followed the two into the lounge. When he walked up to the table, he found Cattie there, and discovered that the grey haired man had been Artie Kingston, the man he has won the resturant from. After you guys had read this part, what did you think about this whole situation (do you think the phone call was from someone that was spying on Denn?)

Chapter 25 [Cattie]:
Cattie had sat back in her chair while watching Denn and Artie converse. She could see how Artie was mocking Denn and how Denn was taking it. She started to stand up, but again Artie grabbed her and stopped her. When she finally got free she grabbed her purse and stormed away. Why do you think she removed herself from the situation so quickly?

Chapter 26 [Denn]:
Denn continues to talk to Artie in this chapter. Artie says that he knows that Cattie likes Denn. Denn likes this. Yet Artie continues to shoot Denn down with puns, and he informs Denn of all his victories and reminds Denn of all his failures. Artie tells Denn that he is too easy, and that he can’t be in love and play poker. He also confesses that he is the one behind all of Denn’s losings. Why do you think Artie wanted to get back at Denn? I think that Artie is a very suspicious character.

Chapter 27 [Jimbo]:
Here Jimbo, our narrator, tells us that when you’re in the poker business you should be careful picking your friends. He also tells us stories of how he lent money to some of his friends, but only reasonably. Denn had approached him and made small talk, leading up to the question if Jimbo would lend him some money. Jimbo shamefully declined, and Denn could tell that Jimbo was lying when he said he didn’t have the money. Why didn’t Jimbo want to help Denn out?

Chapter 28 [Cattie]:
Here Cattie thinks about her mother again. Could this signify something? She also was thinking about Denn a lot. She commented on her lazy lifestyle, with an ‘i hate myself’ tone.

Chapter 29 [Denn]:
Denn was in the Mirage, walking around, thinking. He had stopped by and watched a few games. He came across one that had a beefy man playing intensly. The man had overall won more than $50,000, and the game wasn’t over. After a while of watching, Denn laid down his wad of cash and joined the game. Do you think this was a good idea of Denn’s? Or could this be another mistake he is being sucked into by Artie?

Truthfully I really had not found any words that we haven’t came across before, and all of the poker terms have been defined. Let me know if you need anything clarified!

Thanks again guys for cooperating with me and blogging now!

Cattie will not end up like that because she has a heart, and wants to live a very successful life.
He knew Denn was coming. He had to and when he referred to the cold, I think he was pointing out how she used Denn (that is cold).
I am not really sure, but it probably was, because Artie has been watching him for a while now.
She did this because she knew with Denn their Artie would pull a fast move and she did not want that.
He did so because he is a sore loser. He said it is to show how he has no friends, but that does not matter. He hated how he lost to Denn so he feels that to make Denn go bankrupt is the next best thing to do.
It is winner takes all and Jimbo is scared. It is like Rocky fighting Mr. T in the first fight. Rocky was afraid so he goes down right away, so he does not really have to fight that monster.
Yes, it does. She wants to become a normal person. Have a normal paying job with somebody who she can share something special with (Denn ).
Great choice because you never want to live your life in fear, so why would Denn start now? “Don’t let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game,” which is a great quote because it shows that he is not afraid. Also he is not going to change just because some hot shot took his money already.

Cattie will end up fine because she will be with Denn in the end and, well, yeah she will be fine.
He probably wanted Cattie to stay because he wasn’t finished talking with her for the night, and he wanted her to stay to intimidate Denn while Artie was talking to him. I’m not quite sure what Artie wants from Cattie but I have a bad feeling about this creeper. Cold as in heartless, maybe…
Yes, I do believe the previous phone calls about Denn were all produced by him.
Cattie was obviously uncomfortable around this old geezer the whole night and now that he had someone new to talk to, Denn, she could leave him.
Artie wants to get back at Denn because Denn won his restaurant from him, and that apparently meant a lot to him.
Jimbo didn’t want to help Denn because Denn isn’t doing so well with money right now. Jimbo also figured that he is entering the tournament why should he pay for the two of them, why if the both loose? He would be out 20 grand.
She is worried about her mother and is wondering if they will ever speak again…she wants to be close to her.
I simply think this is a good game and it is something Denn had to do for himself.
