Dracula Post 3, Connector Kianat Zamir
By looking at the two pictures on the bottom, can you guess who is Mina and who is Lucy (not based on their appearance, but on their positions)? Why did you pick whom you did for each picture? Do you think this is how they were presented to us in the book? Clearly, who do you think is depicted as being stronger?
The picture on top of Mina (the way she is posed), how does this show us what type of person she is, and how she feels about herself being a victim of Dracula’s?
-Kianat Zamir, sorry my post is late, i didn’t get access to a computer till very late at night!

Wow, that’s a really different response!
It’s kind of confusing at first to figure out who’s who because they are obviously acting and so they are putting a lot of power into their parts, which can throw off who might be who.
Well, I’m thinking that the second picture is Mina, because it looks like there is a bed behind them. This would seem to be the scene where Van Helsing and everyone else finds Dracula in Jonathan and Lucy’s bedroom. This seems like a fairly accurate representation of them.
I think that the third picture is Lucy, because she seems to be wearing something that she would wear to bed. I’m guessing this because it looks very revealing for that time period. This doesn’t seem to be an accurate representation of Lucy because she is stretching her hands like it is a love scene. Lucy looks stronger; she seems to be more aware of the situation.
For the third part, she seems to be sleeping. This would make sense, because Lucy slept a lot after she was bitten. It’s hard to tell what Mina’s emotions are in this picture because her eyes are closed.
There’s my blog!

I think that the second picture is Mina. This appears to be Lucy becuase like Brandon said, there is a bed behind her. This is relating to sleep walking. Dracula is sucking the blood out of her and the bed is representing the night at which he does this. She appears to be asleep, and as Brandon said, unaware and not sure of her surroundings. I really don’t agree with you Brandon becuase if it were the scence where everyone was in the bedroom finding Dracula, where is everyone in the picture?? The second one represents Mina.
I think that the third picture represents Mina. She seems more reluctant to let her blood be sucked out of her. I think you went around this all wrong Brandon. If you were looking at the scene where everyone finds Dracula, wouldn’t this picture be an accurate interpretation of how Dracula was holding her and saying ‘don’t say anything or I will kill your husband?’ She is in a position where she is trying to get free, not a loving scene. You were paying way too much attention to the outfit Brandon!

Hey I just happened to stumble upon the fact that this had 7 comments and wondered how, and what a coincidence that I happen to find my name in it. I don’t type Dan’s blog I just post it.

Well boys I agree with you both.
The girl in the second picture is on a bed, making the observer assume that the two are in a bedroom. Lucy was not ever bitten in her room that we know of, so one assumes that it is Mina. I agree with Dan that the third picture looks more unwilling, but so does the second picture. Also, we did not know if Lucy even was willing to have her blood taken. I must go with the thought that Mina is the second.
Thus from obvious reasoning, the third picture can only be Lucy. It backround appears to be outside and she seems almost helpless in Dracula’s hands.
Speaking of which, Dracula is obviously the strongest one there, in strength not will. In will, the girls take the prize.
The first picture shows the sadness that Mina is feeling. It also shows the strong will she posesses to survive.
There is my blog for you. I am sorry that it is so short, but the stupid website erased the copy I had and the data I tried to put on it.

Jenni, make sure you didn’t save it instead of publishing it. That’s what happened to me over on Saturday. I’ll tell you how to find your post tomorrow.
It could just be that the website is stupid. It never worked for Dan. That’s why Adam always posted it. But Dan couldn’t reach Adam, so he posted his post as a response to my blog.
