The Great Gatsby: Connector: Post 3
A lot happened in chapters 5, 6, and 7. Daisy and Gatsby grew much closer, and Tom affirmed his suspicians about Daisy and Gatsby loving one another. These chapters reminded me of an old movie where there are two guys fighting to win the love of the same girl. Between Gatsby having the parties to lure Daisy, Gatsby going out to eat with Tom and Daisy, Gatsby having tea with them, and going into the city with them. Tom is just trying to decide if Gatsby and Daisy do love each other. I can’t decide at this point who Daisy likes.
From how chapter 7 ended, do you think that Daisy likes Gatsby more than Tom?

I sort of gave my opinion to this answer on my post when I was analyzing Daisy’s and Tom’s behavior. I think that it’s obvious to everyone that Daisy is not in love with Tom anymore, nor does she like him. So, at face value, I’d say she likes Gatsby more. I think she likes everyone more than Tom at this point. However, if you read my blog, I mentioned that her actions made it seem like she was using Gatsby to get revenge on Tom and make him jealous. Even though she has told Gatsby she loves him, she still hasn’t left Tom for him. So if she really did love Gatsby, don’t you think she would have left Tom by now? Do you think it’s possible that deep down she still really cares for Tom? Hmm… Daisy’s a trickster. She’ll be one to watch.

I agree with Erin. Daisy is a tricky one. She says that she loves Gatsby but then why has she not left Tom for him. I must say that I don’t think Daisy knows what she really wants. She loves Gatsby but yet she is married to Tom and has a child with him. At this point I think she is also confused with her relationship to both Tom and Gatsby. I also agree with Maddie the situation also reminds me of most old movies where the girl is forced to choose which man she loves. We also saw this in A Tale of Two Cities when Lucie had to choose. She is definatly one to watch!

Maddie-Not much of a connection made here. What were you going for. Weak question too. You need to put some more time and effort into this.
