i think that it was a good choice. He as well had a sister with a problem as well. I think he saved the family further troubles.

I am not sure that Caroline will have a normal life as Megan said. We all know that if your even a little different you don't fit in. But i think Phoebe will have more comfort and care with Caroline.

Well this child is part of Norah, and I think its just instinct as Megan said.

I don't think it makes him a horrible person, but it was wrong of David to have Phoebe taken away for her disability. The fact that he is trying to protect Norah doesn't make it any better, because in the end he only hurt her with his decision.

I agree that Caroline made the right choice to keep Phoebe and not put her in the institution. I don't really think it will make her life more "normal" because she still has Down Syndrome, but it could make her feel loved and not abandoned when, and if, she learns the whole story.

I definitely agree that Norah has maternal insticts toward Phoebe. Even women that have miscarriages have "links" to their unborn children.

Even though his intentions were good, the action in my opinion was bad. I think that he was embarrassed by his daughter which was another reason he gave her up. So the truth behind his actions is unclear, making it hard to come to a final conclusion.
I am glad that Caroline kept Pheobe out of an institution because she has the opportunity to live a "normal" life, whatever the definition of normal is. Caroline may also be secretly hoping David will tell Norah the truth and she will be there with their daughter to give back to them. Maybe she wants to be the hero of the story!
Like I said in a previous comment, I think that Norah just has those maternal instincts that are telling her to continue to love this unseen baby.
