Being a girl and all, I know what it's like to gossip a lot and it's sort of fun. But, it does hurt people's feelings sometimes. Granfer Cantle doesn't seem like he cares whether he hurts people's feelings or not. I think that since there is a new love connection between Eustacia and Clym, and the marriage between Thomasin and Damon, i think he will have so much to gossip about. I think he will find it very hard to stop gossiping, because everyone does it, and he seems to love to do it. Maybe Granfer Cantle enjoys to gossip because his life is boring, and, again, drama is one of the only ways to keep yourself occupied in a little town like the heath. Since his own life has become dull he now tries to excite it with talking about other people. Although I do think that some people may get tired of his gossiping. Especially Eustacia if she starts to spend more time with Clym out in the country. She'll have to put up with all of the country folk, and she won't like it.
