Leah Sevco Period 3 TOTC CW
Alright as the character watcher I want to discuss Mr.Lorry, Darnay, and Monsieur the Marquis.
First lets start off with Mr.Lorry. He seems to be an obvious main character in this story. So anyways in these 12 chapters of the book 2, he is in the trial and marriage problem. In the rial he is a witness where Darnay, is found not guilty. Also in the marriage, Mr. Stryver comes to him to talk about the topic of marrying Ms.Manette. So it almost seems to me as Mr.Lorry is like the town mayor. What do you think of the identity that Dickens has gave Mr.Lorry. Do you agree that he is like a mayor?
Next lets talk about Darnay. In his part of the book he has had a trial of treason, and is also apart of the marriage problem. He is the main one in the trial, because it is said that he was targeting French, and English soldiers. What did you guys think about the trial? Was he guilty? Also he was apart of the marriage. His fate was not yet determined, but Mr.Stryver was. Do you think that they could make a good couple? Also do you think that his name thing will affect his chance with Ms.Manette?
Then we have Monsieur The Marquis, which is a powerful lord that is stuck up. He only thinks of himself. In his part he kills a poor boy, when he ran him over with his coach. What he does is throw money and keep going. It makes me sick when I read about this part, because what man could possibly do that? What do you guys think of this part? Also should the wealthy be able to treat the poor like this? This book is making me sick just thinking of how brutal it is to be poor.
That is it for main characters in the book , but lets look at the minor characters.
-Mr. Stryver- A pretty wealthy man who wanted to marry Ms.Manette, but was rejected.
-Dr.Manette-Did play a role in the trial, and discussed the matters of marriage with his daughter.
-Ms.Manette-Played a witness role in the trial, and was the one that was basically deciding on marriage.
Do you think that Ms.Manette will get married in these next couple chapter?
These are all the characters I have for you, so answer the questions with thorough explanations.

It seems to me like he could be an authoritve figure such as a mayor. I also get this feeling, becuase he was in all the major parts of the book, with the dream, to the trial, and now the marriage.
I truly do not think that he is guilty. There was no acual evidence of the treason, as there could of been a mistake because it was dark and you could not see the mans face. As for the marriage I do believe that they will get married, because tehy seem like a good couple. But for the name thing, I think there will be a problem in the near future with that. Also don’t you think that it would be weird to marry someone that testified against you?
I didn’t like this Monsieur The Marquis, because he seems to be selfish. Also I hate the fact that he can get away with murder. It also does seem that the rich can do anything to the poor. So it may not be that big of a deal back then, but it does seem wrong, because everybody is a human. It should not matter on their money.
I am making the statement now, taht Ms.Manette will get marries in the next couple chapters, because Dickens already got rid of Mr.Stryver.

I don’t espicially think he is like a mayor, he makes his way around town and talks to everybody, but i don’t think he is like a mayor.
Darnay is not guilty, there is no proof at all that he did anything wrong. Ms. Manette and Darnay make a very good couple and I think we will see them get married very soon. And i don’t think the name thing will affect his chances with Ms. Manette.
I agree, Leah, Misieur The Marquis is mamking me sick as well. The poor is so dirty and needed and all the rich do is snob around throwing their pity cash at them to make them go away. The rich should not be able to treat the poor like this but back then they did and we can’t change history.

It a very a very unusual to compare Mr. Lorry to a mayor. He is respested in thought of like a mayor. By this I mean that the other character think highly of him. Mr. Lorry doesn’t have control of the other characters like a mayor does. Over all this is an okay comparision.
I believe the trial involved with Darnay is terrible. There was no evidence other than suspision. When he was on the train nothing of him could be seem. Lucie was talking to the man on the train for a while and thought and didn’t think it was Darnay. Speaking of these two I think that they would make a good couple. They seem two enjoy being around each other. They also kissed if that counts for anything.
I agree with you 100% Leah. MaAQUIS is a terrible man. IN the case of the boy. He believes that money can buy off the boys life. THere were alot of rich people that were like this back in the 1700’s.
