Tale of 2 Cities Period 3, Connector
The Situation that Miss Manegette is in is very similiar to Will Smith’s character in French Prince of Bellair. Miss Manegette has never met her father. She does not know what to expect and was forced to live in an orphanige. In Will’s case his father left him at a very young age. When Will meets his father he is unable to understand him and their relationship becomes bad and frusterating.
So I must ask, will Miss Manette relationship with her father not go well because she is used to not having a father? Will the role of father ruin this relationship because the daughter isn’t used to having that figure? These are very important questions to ask for the rest of the book. This will determine the mood between these two characters.

I have watched the FPoB but never knew Will Smith met his father later in the shows series. Anyway, the two questions you asked sound quite familiar to each other and are almost asking the same thing will the relationship with her father and having a father figure be a good thing or a bad thing. I think it will end up being a good thing because unlike Will’s father, Miss Manette’s didn’t leave her on purpose; he was a prisoner of war and locked up against his will. When she met him for the first time she seemed quite happy and her old father seemed to miss her I think it was 18 years? I don’t think the story will completely focus on their father-daughter relationship but it is diffidently something to watch.

I watch the Fresh Prince Of Belair, but I have never seen that episode. But Will still does have a fatherly figure with his Uncle. Therefor I think that Ms.Manette will love that she has someone that will be there for her and someone she can truly open up to. I think this relationship will be a good one because of the fact that he showed he cared for her by crying. But also don’t you guys think that this book can connect to the Prince and the Pauper. I say this because there is a major class strugle. In the Prince and the Pauper it shows how everybody is mistreated, just like the novel we are reading.

I have seen the Fresh Prince Of Belair, but not that exact episode. But even so i do believe that Will does have a fatherly figure growing up, which is his Uncle. I do believe though that she will learn to love and except her father because she now has somebody she can truly express her self too. She and the father will move forward in life, but I truly think that more drama is going to occure with these two characters.
Also i have another connection. In the beggining of this book it talks about killing a boy. I have a feeling that this boy was in a poor class. So I get the feeling that this is just like the Prince and the Pauper, because of the class strugles. What is everybody elses view on this?

Like Rebecca, I never knew that Will had met his father later in the tv series.
But also, I believe that the situations are totally different. Miss Manette’s father was forced to leave his daughter because he was a prisoner of war. Will’s father, on the other hand, had just straight up left him.
Miss Manette and her father’s relationship will most likely not be too akward. Miss Manette has probably missed her father, as he has missed her. There should be no hard feelings between the two. In Will Smith’s case in the Fresh Prince of Belaire, his father had left him purposfully. Therefore, their relationship would most likely not be a very strong one.
