Well, I am still trying to figure this thing out so hopefully this works and the group gets it. My question is why does Taylor choose to keep the baby that the one woman gave her? So far in the first four chapters she treats the baby well but she doesn’t talk about it as if she wants to keep the baby. So why does she choose to keep the baby when in her mind she doesn’t really want it or it may cause her problems down the road?
Also why is Taylor always second guessing herself? Is she just naturally one of those people who second guess themselves, or is she concerned about the effect that the decisions she makes will have. For example she was second guessing herself when she took the child instead of giving it back, why do you think that is? Could it possibly be because she is scared that she might not be a good influence on the child. Or maybe she thinks that she will not be able to support the child or be the good, steady parent that the child needs.

I think Taylor keeps the baby because she exactly just leave it there to die. She would feel bad if she could have helped it and left it there. She might be second guessing herself because she wants the decisions she makes in the end to be good descisions that will not end badly. Like, when she second guesses on taking the child, it probably is because she is debating if she is able to take care of such a big responsiblity. Also, I am wondering why the woman just randomly hands a girl she’s never known a baby? Why would she do that?

I think that Taylor kept the little girl because even though it is not her child, the woman gave it to her [in my perspective to save its life. Now it is her responsibility to take care of it, whether she keeps the child as her own or finds a family for it to live with. Taylor probably talks about the child like she doesn’t want it because it is not her actual child, she never had a child before, and she doesn’t know exactly what she will do with the girl yet.
I think that Taylor was second guessing herself because she just got a child that some woman gave her, she had just left home a short time ago, and the world around her is fairly new to her. It is natural to secind guess yourself when you are in new environments with new people and surroundings. Plus now that she does have the little girl she needs to make a decision on if she will keep the child or give it to a stable family, so she is second guessing on whether or not she could be a good parent or not before she makes that decision.

Brittany-Good questions. Remember the DD must respond at the end.
Sarah-Beware of misspellings and mechanical errors. Also, don’t just accept assumptions like “she would feel bad if she left it there.” That wasn’t her only choice. And why is it suddenly on her because some other woman couldn’t handle her own responsibilities? Explore this more.
Kortney: Same as what I just wrote to Sarah-don’t accept assumptions. Really explore what is being asked and what you are saying.
